We take a small number of weddings at Gardenmorris each summer. Usually eight, occasionally ten, always between May and August. That’s a deliberate choice — it keeps the estate feeling like what it is, which is a family home that occasionally hosts a wedding, rather than a venue that occasionally closes.
When couples come to us, it’s typically because they want the whole estate to themselves for the weekend rather than a single day. Most of our weddings run from Thursday or Friday through to Sunday or Monday. Guests stay on the grounds and in the house where possible, and in the courtyard rooms and local inns nearby. You and your party have the place to yourselves.
We’ll be quietly nearby if you need us, and out of the way if you don’t.
There isn’t a template. Every wedding here is different, and that’s partly be-cause we don’t have a wedding coordi-nator imposing a schedule on you, and partly because the estate lends itself to people doing things their own way.
Most couples use the gardens for drinks when the weather allows, which in Waterford in June is most of the time. Ceremonies happen either at the red bridge, in the walled garden, in front of the house, or inside the Hall if the weather turns. Dinner is in the

The whole estate is given to one celebration at a time — the house, the gardens, the Hall, the grounds by the lake — and never shared. Up to 250 guests are seated for dinner, with room for 300 into the evening. Most couples bring their own vision and their own people: your planner, your caterers, your florists, your band, with no house template and no mandatory suppliers. Where it helps, we introduce trusted local names — among them the chef Eunice Power, and Eamo & Ro, whose menus read like a map of Co. Waterford. But the wedding is yours to compose, entirely.
We only host a few weddings
each Summer, not out of any grandness, but because the estate is our home for the rest of the year and we want to be sure the match is right on both sides.
